We’re seeking a group of professional fashion savvy volunteers to join our GSOFW Team. Come be a part of a high-energy experience as we kickoff our sixth year in Greensboro representing the local Triad communities and businesses in an exciting and fashionable way!

 

Team members should be self-starters that can take initiative to seek and complete tasks as they are presented throughout the duration of all GSOFW events. Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others is necessary for this role. Volunteer staff must be compliant with the rules and code of conduct enforced by the Greensboro Fashion Week Administrative Team as well as sign a contract agreeing to adhere to all terms and conditions.

 

Front of house volunteers are considered "the face" of GSOFW. Greeters and ushers interact directly with guests and are there to help our other team members and attendees in any way possible. As a FOH helper you must present yourself professionally as well as be knowledgeable of all details of the show and venue to best inform and assist guests. FOH volunteers responsibilities include, but are not limited to: helping to arrange seating, assembling giveaways, assisting vendors/sponsors to their booths and helping setup, collecting tickets, seating guests in assigned sections, and any other tasks that requires assistance out front prior to, during, and following the runway shows.

 

Back of house volunteers are assigned to be a designer assistant. You are to shadow and assist your designer(s) from the time they arrive at the venue until the time they have left the venue. Tasks of a designer assistant include but are not limited to: steaming/ironing garments, dressing/undressing models assigned to your designer, keeping all accessories and clothing brought by designers/vendors organized and together, unpacking, organizing, and repacking all outfits made/brought by designer, knowing all models by name and recognition assigned to your designer. Designers are encouraged to use their designer assistants to help in any and all tasks necessary prior to, during, and following their runway show. 

 

All volunteers, front and back of house, are required to stay until the end of the runway event each night. All night shows should conclude at approximately 10:00 PM, but no later than 11:00 PM. Upon completion of the event, all volunteers will assist in clean up and reset of venue for events the following day.  This includes but is not limited to: moving, prepping, or packing up chairs, resetting seating arrangements, discarding of trash left by guests, breaking down tables/booths used by vendors and sponsors. 

 

Volunteers will be expected to strictly comply with dress code.

Ladies - white button down blouse, black dress slacks or pencil skirt, and black heels or flats.*

Absolutely NO mini-skirts, t-shirts, printed/patterned top or bottoms, jeans/leggings, tennis shoes, or flip flops. 

 

Gentlemen- white button down collared shirt, black dress pants, and black loafers or other dress shoes.* 

Absolutely NO patterned/printed tops or bottoms, t-shirts, jeans or sneakers.

 

*The directors and staff have the right to alter these guidelines at any time. Any changes will be directly communicated to staff via email.


Note: All minors will have to have their contract signed by a parent or legal guardian.
