This is only the second year that The Preview has been in existence, but it draws a crowd and create an aesthetically pleasing event that very few events North Carolina can provide. The Preview is exactly what the name entails – it’s an hour long preview of what is to come in October during Greensboro Fashion Week (that’s on October 2nd-7th).
Upon entering the venue, you were given an opportunity for a photo op on the runway before entering the lounge where hors d’ oeuvres awaited, drinks were served and GSOFW merchandise was displayed for your pleasure.
Seven designers put their best foot forward to fit the evening’s theme ‘A Pop of Color’ while creating designs that are outside the box to express their creativity. Every cell phone was out, every head was turning, and every second of the evening brought excitement to kick off the beginning of summer.
Coming off of last year's show, we were excited to see what our designers would create with a change in theme and setting in comparison to last yer's show. Last year we saw more lose prints, more micro-fabrics that were pleasing to the eye and slightly thicker fabrics due to the nature of it being an indoor show.
Print and color are in season which gave our designers the opportunity to provide to take the warm weather and diverse color schemes as inspiration and carry them in their own direction.
Primary colors, stand-out prints and light fabrics are all things that our designers thrived on. There were a few dresses, such as the golden one layered over a band collared printed shirt, that were ready to be worn straight off the runway. The direction that our hair and makeup team went with to compliment the great work that our designers did was nothing short of outstanding.
Another highlight of the day was our special event put on for our guest bloggers which included a complimentary hair and makeup session b Jenna Carroll and her team at EyeSalons, a brunch hosted by Larue on Elm, and the opportunity to be chauffeured to The Preview in 2018 Mazda’s provided by our title sponsor Flow Mazda.
Here’s a special thanks to our sponsors Flow Mazda, EyeSalons, Triad City Beat, Folica Salon on, The Mill Entertainment Complex and Larue on Elm for your help in making The Preview the premiere summer fashion show in Greensboro.
