GREENSBORO FASHION WEEK AMONG TOP THREE SHOWS IN NATION
Local Coca-Cola bottler to sponsor, co-brand with Sprite®, encouraging self-expression and creativity
Greensboro Fashion Week is excited to announce that this year’s show will be sponsored by Coca-Cola Consolidated, the local bottler for the Greensboro area. The 2018 event, which kicks off on October 2, will be co-branded with Sprite®, and promises to showcase the glamour, style, and talent in North Carolina.
Now in its fifth year, Greensboro Fashion Week has become an enterprise with a vision and production quality that has matured with each passing year. And while that growth could easily be measured by the number of tickets sold or a count of designer and model applications received – show creators, Witneigh Davis and Giovanni Ramadani, continue to measure their success based on the character and talent of the people around them.
“Our show is all about quality, so we’ve wanted to partner with the best designers, local businesses, and trusted brands since day one of doing this,” Ramadani says.
And while they’ve posted an impressive sponsorship roster the last four years, this year was the first time they’ve had a globally-recognized brand approach them.
“As the local Coca-Cola bottler based in North Carolina, we appreciate the unique opportunity that Greensboro Fashion Week offers to up-and-coming designers and models,” said Heather Hucks, senior director of brand marketing for Coca-Cola Consolidated. “We’re honored to support the self-expression and creativity that this show promises to bring.”
Coca-Cola Consolidated is sponsoring three fashion shows nationwide: Columbus, Nashville, and Greensboro. It’s a short list that Davis and Ramadani are honored to be on and they hope the brand’s participation in their show will help reiterate how important their work in the community is.
“Because this is fashion, it’s easy to overlook the economy that’s at work here. We’re helping fashion students and artists find their stride, we’re helping local photographers and models gain national exposure, and we’re bringing new people into this city every year,” Davis says. “We’re also reviving a textile industry that’s been here all along, but just needed a little rebranding,” she adds.
Look for Sprite at the lemon-lime themed meet and greet on Tuesday, October 2, at the Mill Entertainment Complex. (Be sure to come dressed in lemon-lime colored cocktail attire!) While the event is free, guests must register at greensborofashionweek.com.
