TOP MODELS ANSWER CALL FOR SUMMER AND FALL FASHION SHOWS

Greensboro Fashion Week’s fifth model search proves to be their most fruitful one yet.

GREENSBORO, NC – MAY 30, 2018. At the conclusion of last year’s Greensboro Fashion Week, event founders Witneigh Davis and Giovanni Ramadani, promised a packed Elm Street Center that the annual affair would only get bigger and better each year. But even the visionary couple couldn’t foresee the quality of talent that would show up to this year’s model casting call.

“We have always been impressed with the models that show up, but this year we were simply blown away by how runway perfect they were.” Davis said.

What exactly is runway perfect? Besides height (they had their largest turnout of female models 5’10’ or taller’) there’s also a certain finesse, attitude, and grace that floats (then pivots) a model on the runway – it’s an “it” factor that Ramadani typically coaches, only this year – these models seem to already have “it.”

And while the duo is ecstatic about how this quality turn-out will translate to their fashion week this fall, they’re also stuck with the impossible task of choosing the top models to walk in their intimate summer show, “The Preview.” Meant to showcase a teaser (and preview) of their fall event, the June 23rd summer show is too small to include all of the models.

“Choosing the best-of-the-best is always tough, but it’s the nature of the business and the competition (and possible rejection) will only help prepare them for the reality of high-fashion modeling,” Ramadani says.

And that’s something Ramadani is especially familiar with. A former New York Fashion Week model himself, Ramadani loves helping new models find their stride. In fact, Greensboro Fashion Week has helped start the careers of many Triad-based models that have gone on to walk in New York Fashion Week, work in print-ads, star in television commercials, and more.

This year will be no exception and 2018 Greensboro Fashion Week will continue to give models the chance to be seen in front of the industry’s top professionals. Want to witness them yourself? The top models will walk June 23rd in “The Preview” summer show from 5-7pm at The Mill Entertainment Complex. The 2018 Greensboro Fashion Week is October 2-7.
